Came home from work last Thursday to a beehive of first responder activity across the street. They took the elderly homeowner out on a stretcher. Good news, seems it wasn't too critical as they were not in a super rush, as you can see in the pic below a lot of milling around. No sirens either when they drove off. All encouraging. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Not A Deer To Me...
And speaking of deer (from previous post).
You can see they've been around, and around and around and around!
I see their hoof prints all over the yards. Seems like they've been in every flower bed we have. This time of the year is the worst to, as they eat the perennials as they're popping up, right back down to the ground - tulips, sedum, hosta, echinacea, UGH!
And We're Off...
I picked up some vegetable plants on Monday - zucchini and summer squash, kale and broccoli and got them in the ground.
Zucchini on the left and summer on the right -
Kale into broccoli -
Now the battle begins to keep the deer, woodchucks and rabbits at bay...
First Ride of 2019
Took my first ride of the season this past Sunday down to Chaplin, CT to the Bach Dor Cafe. 118 mile round trip run.
The Bach Dor Cafe is a biker bar that draws bikers near and far. Sunday offers cheep eats, typically a smoked pig. It's a great place to wander and look at all the bikers, as well as people watch.
It's a great, beautiful ride down and back and Sunday didn't disappoint.
Seem customary to mount the head of the smoked pig, tongue and all, on the fence. Perhaps, to advertise the food is ready...
Oh Bother, (Christopher) Robin
The Robin's nest below was built under our back deck. Since I didn't want birds nesting there I removed the it, pictured below. It sat on my workbench in the basement for half a day. That was until Emilie came home and found it. After some arguing (might as well been talking to the wall) I reluctantly placed the nest back under the deck. I like to think I caved because I was hoping the two eggs had gone cold enough and wouldn't hatch...
Boy was I wrong! Not only did the two hatch, she laid two additional eggs and all four have hatched -
Sorry, not one of your parents, just here to grab a couple pics. Carry on -
it's A Purple Theme Spring
Seems many of our plants that are currently flowering are doing so in purple or a variation of. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all. To the contrary...

RIP Jasmine
It's with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Jasmine.
Her she is sneaking on the couch for nap.
She was fortunate to have spent her final hours with her love holding and comforting her.
She was a good dog and will be missed dearly..
New Tines
I finally repaired my Craftsman dethatcher. 8 of the 10 tines snapped off over the last couple of years of use. Unfortunately, due to the rainy spring and soggy lawn I've not had a chance to put her back in use and test out the new tines. Either way, it's ready to roll when I need it next.
The problem with a tool like this is storage. It's bulky and with the tines poking all over, it's a tricky item.
Welcome To The Suite!
We took in a New England Revolution soccer game at Gillette Stadium. They played the New York Red Bulls and won the match 1-0. Our seats were in the Putnam Investments suite! It was a rainy night but a humid, so we were able to open the sliding windows to enjoy the cool evening air, yet protected from the rain. It was a good take for sure.

That's The Spot!
I'm hopeful that spring will eventually arrive and decide to stay.
In the meantime, even Trixie-dog, locates the sunny spots on the rug to stretch out and get warm.

Fast Lane Drivers, UGH!
My sentiments exactly - 100%!
I see this ALL the time during my commutes to and from the office.
Entitlement. No common courtesy. Dipsticks!
Rock on Vic!
