Animal Kingdom #1

I banged out another 1000 piece puzzle this past week!

I enjoy doing them but hate starting them because I can stop from working them.

So Modest Is Oliver

Okay, so I was looking for Oliver the other afternoon, as he wasn't sleeping in his usual spot on the couch.  Now it's very possible he wasn't in his usual spot on the couch because I banished him and put some magazines in his spot.  Too much hair getting on the couch.

I checked the other spots he sometimes uses and again he wasn't there. So, I begin my search by going room to room and to my surprise I find him curled up nice and comfy on the spare bed - not that I'm any more pleased that his hair will now be all over the bed, alas.

However, the absolute funniest thing is that he is curled up against his own self image pillow!  I did NOT place him there and this was NOT a staged picture, no sir.  Plus you can tell he's content there and that I woke him from his nap.

What a ham bone he is!

And Counting!

Sitting Pretty!

Luv me a bird of prey!

I believe this is a Red-shouldered hawk.

This dude was perched out back in a boxelder tree, patiently waiting and looking for a bite to eat.  Always a welcome sight. Sure hope he was able to capture a critter from my yard, as I have too many, so one less would be okay by me.

It Sure Is!

Joe Journeyman

Banged out another puzzle, with some help from Stephanie.

This one a 500 piece puzzle, which is SO much easier and quicker to do then the typical 1000 piece puzzles.

Onto the next one, another 500 piece...

Celtics 107 - Bulls 99

My oldest daughter Stephanie and her partner Audrey gave my youngest daughter Emilie and I tickets to the Boston Celtics vs Chicago Bulls basketball game at the TD Garden in Boston as a Christmas gift.  The second part of the gift was that Stephanie and Audrey were flying in, from Chicago, to go to the game with us, which was this past Monday 1/9!!

We headed into the city early, parked in the garage at the TD Garden and headed to Porters Bar & Grill, just across the street from the garden, for appetizers and wobbly pops.  Good food, good beers and a very friendly waitress made for a fun time.

We made our way into the garden, found our seats and settled in for an exciting game -

Us Boston Celtics fans were very happy with the outcome; a WIN!
However, Audrey, a life time Chicago resident and Chicago sports fans wasn't too happy that her Bulls lost but she represented her home team well.

It was a great gift for sure and one where I won several times over by simply being able to spend some quality, fun time with my two girls and Audrey!

So Pathetic...

Ms. Trixie had not been herself earlier in the week.  Very lethargic and mopie, not moving around much and sleeping most of the time.

She had me worried, so I took her to the vet.  The doctor believes she hurt herself; maybe her back, which he said is common for older small dogs that tend to jump on and down from furniture.  He gave her a painkiller\muscle relaxant shot, that made a big difference shortly thereafter, and sent us home with a similar oral medicine to be given to her once a day.

It's been a couple days now and although she isn't back to her same old normal self just yet, she is definitely doing SO much better.
