Amaryllis Excitement "Grows"

The growth on our new Amaryllis was approximately 4" tall when we first planted the bulb on 1/17. Today, 2/16, it's up to 12" - a whopping 8" in 30 days and growing fast. I'm guessing it was sitting around the store I purchased it from for quite some time and didn't look too good but it was marked half off and I enjoy a good challenge every once in a while, so I jumped at it.

The support/measure stick has been marked off in 1" increments using a red marker. The black marks show the height of the bulb when first planted, as well as the foot marks.
