Bubba Night Night

Who remembers the 1978 iconic advertising slogan, "Calgon take me away!"?

It became synonymous with needing a mental or physical break. I'm assuming it's used today to describe a desire to escape, but guessing people prolly recall the phrasing differently, like what I'm doing here...

This Nowadays THC product is akin to Calgon, although not a bath product, in my eyes. A shot of this infused elixir a short time before bed and I get a pretty good sleep -

Sweet dreams y'all!

Clueless and Selfish

Let me ask you all a question...

What are your thoughts on people who bring cups of a beverage, e.g. hot coffee or hot tea, with them when visiting and going to real-estate open houses?!

Yay or Nay?

Personally, I find it VERY presumptuous and 100% unacceptable!

My neighbors house is for sale and they had an open house the other day.  Since my house is also on the market, I kept a close eye on the (few) parties that came.

I watched as one couple unloaded their kids and then each gathered up what looked like takeout hot coffee or hot tea cups as they marched right into the house with these items in hand. Honestly, you're taking a house tour NOT visiting friends\family, which will take what 5, 10, 15 minutes?  Can't you go that long without your coffee or tea, really?! Leave that shit in the car!  What happens if a cup spills; on carpet? on a piece of furniture? on whatever? Who's responsible for cleaning the spill and subsequent costs of on an item that needs professional cleaning?

Yeah, sorry NOT sorry but NO WAY!  I've already reached out to my realtor to let her know that under no circumstances are cretin visitors allowed to enter my open houses with food or beverage. I struggle as it is with just having dirty strangers parading through my house.

C'mon, there's a time and place!

Why not light a cigarette too, use the toilet (EWWW) or lay in my bed (tosses bed out the window after learning this) while you're at it.

Show some respect, common decency and self control, IT'S NOT YOUR PLACE!

It frustrates me to no end having to mention this seemingly obvious thing!

This Is An Easy One!

An Audi, DEFINETLY and Audi!

Just my observations of late and it's without question Audi drivers!

Although, there are many, many a-holes on the road today, generally speaking the type of car really doesn't matter but Audi drivers in particular are presumptuous POS!

They're some of the BIGGEST assholes on the road.

Just thought I'd share and, PHEW, do I feel better now!

Tale Of The Tape

So, the route I take on my daily walks takes me through some nice, peaceful neighborhoods with some older homes and some newer.

It's that time of the year around here where many homes are preparing for the upcoming New England winter and having their driveways sealed. Several have even had their driveways replaced too. In each instance the companies performing the work put up stakes with yellow warning tape, see above, to prevent folks from treading.  This warning tape is strung along the end of the driveway but also along each side where the sidewalks are.

I understand the overall principle behind this, especially with all the selfish, clueless, inconsiderate people these days but what I am finding is that the homeowners are keeping this yellow tape up for WEEKS!

At what point does this cause an inconvenience to all the folks that use the sidewalks?!  Sure, not a big deal to walk around these and I have no problem doing so but when it drags on for several weeks it starts to become a bit much.  What of the folks pushing a baby carriage?  Navigating around these barriers isn't as easy with granite curbing for example and often times, at least on my early morning walks, the grass is wet.  Wet feet when walking is no fun. Or kiddos on bikes even?

I would assume that after a week the sealant is sufficiently dry, and if a new driveway was poured, it surly is cured enough for foot traffic.  I've been understanding and considerate to you all these past weeks, now it's the homeowners turn to think about others and maybe just remove the tape that is blocking the sidewalks.

What are your thoughts?!

Online Order Fillers

So, what's the deal with these new in-store shoppers?  These new employees that roams the isles of the market, Walmart and so many other stores.  The ones who typically push some oversized cart while they're fulfilling online orders for the lazy.

What I've found, based on my encounters and run ins, most of these folks are rude and seem to have little regard for others.  Many seem young and sadly have no idea what common curtsey and respect are all about.  They don't know how, or perhaps choose not to, say "excuse me" or "sorry".  They don't give way to the other shoppers, often parking their oversized cart in the center of the isle or in the way of others. All too consumed with reading and checking their list.  They don't smile.  They don't say "Hi", after all are they not store employees and representatives of the business and shouldn't they too promote a friendly and welcoming environment?

It's bad enough that regular every day people are rude and inconsiderate but now add these new shoppers and carts to the mix and it makes shopping all the more difficult and chaotic.

Personally, I don't get the whole being lazy and shopping from behind a keyboard when it comes to grocery shopping.  Are people REALLY that busy, c'mon?!  I prefer to see what I'm buying and what's available, especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables and meats, I want to inspect it all first hand.

This just adds to how disassociated and antisocial everyone is becoming.

People suck!

Frye vs Fry

Although this is a true statement in terms of McDonald french fries, being a Frye myself I beg to differ!

Good vs Bad

Here is a picture of the seal on a gallon of Lactaid milk. This is an excellent seal to guarantee freshness, however, this is also an extremely difficult seal to open and remove. They provide a little tab on the seal itself which is supposed to aide in it's removal but don't believe it. It's equally as difficult to try and get a hold of the tab as it is to remove the seal all together.

Here is a seal on the a bottle of Hazelnut Nestle Coffee-Mate. It too is an excellent seal to guarantee freshness, however, this seal is extremely easy to open and remove - it has a handy pull tab.

I sent an email to Lactaid customer service to express my displeasure and concern with their seal. In an effort to provide a compelling example of just how difficult their seals are to remove I explained that I am a strapping young man in excellent physical shape and in tip-top condition and work with my hands all day and here I am having difficulties removing a simple seal. Now imagine how an older person might struggle, perhaps one with arthritis, and how difficult it might be for them to open. I closed with asking how many customers they felt they've lost because of the difficulty in removing this seal.

Much to my surprised I received a very nice email in response thanking me for bringing this concern to their attention. They stressed how this seal ensures freshness and that they would keep my concerns in mind moving forward. I was also tickled when I received a second letter via the US mail again thanking me for my feedback along with three coupons each for a free half gallon of Lactaid milk, booya!

One of the companies was thinking beyond freshness...
