Up Up And Away

Heading home, thank you Chicago!

It was great to see and spend time with my daughter and daughter-in-law! It was emotional and amazing to see my baby pregnant! She was a glow and looked beautiful!

Although, it was a quick trip it was perfect!

We knocked off a lot of honey-do items from their list.

I’m already looking forward to flying back out, when I’ll officially be a grandfather!

Miami Here I Come!

Flew down to Miami a couple weeks ago to visit with my brother and my niece, Mel too!

Up at the ass crack of dawn to get the Logan Express bus out of Framingham, then onto the airport, yawn!

The bus was on time, TSA security check was quick and painless and I was at my gate with plenty of time AND without the need to rush!

It was a VERY chilly morning but a beautiful one, as you can see in the below pic of the city of Boston - clear blue skies -

The flight wasn't too bad, except for the typical herding of selfish, inconsiderate people both getting on and off the plane, but it landed on time!

First order of business upon my arrival, and being picked up by my brother, was a frosty wobbly-pop or two and some chow, a delicious burger -

Now for a week of warmth and just hanging with no agenda or care in the world, priceless!

Boston Walkabout

Here are a few pics from my afternoon in Boston this past Sunday.

As you can see it was cloudy and overcast, a tad nippy too, but a good day none-the-less.

The Embrace sculpture -

I've posted pictures from the 27th floor looking out over Boston, how about a view looking up from the sidewalk.  100 Federal Street, also known as Boston's pregnant building, and where my company occupies several floors -

Another trip into the Public Gardens in a week or two is in order, when the oodles of spring bulbs - tulips and daffodils, are in full bloom with all their colors.

Miami Here We Come!

Emilie and I flew down to visit the Miami Frye's during her March break from URI.  We flew in on Tuesday and returned home late Saturday.  A short visit but we had a great time!  It was long overdue to get down there and the getaway I really needed.

We drove over to Marco Island and hit the beach; what a great spot, which just so happens to hold some wonderful memories too of prior visits  Of course we stopped along the way to take in some BIG alligators!  We also stopped to rescue a large soft-shelled turtle that was attempting to cross the highway. The save was a success, however, the odor from carrying the dude was just awful!

The beach was busy when we first arrived but empty by the time we left.  It was so peaceful and relaxing; not a worry in the world at that time.  Just wish I had a beach chair to sit in. Well, one that had a bottom to it...

Seashells were collected too.  These below were alive, so released but what awesome colors.  A bag of shells made it's way back to Massachusetts -

The following day we visited the Everglades Holiday Park, home to the Animal Planet made famous "Gator Boys" -

We spent over an hour in an airboat out in the everglades.  Captain Rocky was our tour guide and although we did see any alligators up close, it was informative and fun just the same.  The girls enjoyed it too -

Our trip went by too fast but it was terrific to spend time with my brother and niece.  I wish we didn't live so far apart but cherish the times we get to spend together. Seems like only yesterday the girls were babies, they're beautiful young women now and I couldn't be prouder of them both.

Whatcha Thinking About?!

Emilie's turned another page and set to begin yet another chapter in her life, middle school (6th grade), yippee!

Where has the time gone?  Seems like only yesterday she would sit in my lap as I cut the lawn, now she drives the lawn tractor all by herself

She's getting too big and growing too fast and fresh too!
