Teacher Ms. Frye!

I received the below text message from my youngest daughter last night!

It's official, she's a teacher and she landed a job right here in Franklin, where she has always wanted!

I'm SO happy for her and couldn't be prouder.

My "Emilie" Tree

Emilie's Kousa Dogwood tree looked great this year!  It was loaded with flowers and has filled out nicely.

I planted this in honor of Emilie the year she was born.  It had a rough go early on, like Emilie did, but I've doted over it, keeping it watered and pruned, over the years, which has paid off as you can see.

It brings a smile to my face and fond memories whenever I look at it!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

How is this for a cool idea!

We walked into the URI campus bookstore yesterday and this t-shirt caught my eye - the names of all the 2024 URI graduates -

Lo and behold upon closer inspection, looky there, the one and only Miss Emilie Frye -

Yes, of course I bought one!

*** UPDATE ***

I framed the t-shirt myself and used a pink arrow sticky note to point to Emilie's name -

Say AHHHH!

Ms. Emilie had her (4) impacted wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday.

I'm happy to report that all went well, and except for some swelling and soreness, she's doing fine.

URI Move In Day - South Side!

Another bittersweet but proud accomplishment - we moved Emilie into her dorm this past Labor Day weekend 😭 for the start of her sophomore year at URI.

She moved into a suite that she shares with three other girls.  Each have their own rooms, two bathrooms with showers in both, a kitchen and a common area.  All this in a newly built dorm called Brookside, that is next to the football stadium with easy car access to get to and from.

Hoping that with the new rules, policies and procedures in place at URI work to keep this foolish pandemic in check so Emilie, and all students from grade school to grad school, can get back to normal and enjoy their times!

I couldn't be prouder of Emilie!

I Couldn't Be Prouder!

All moved into Adams Hall!

A huge milestone for Emilie!  All her hard work has paid off!  Onto the next chapter and can't wait to see what's in store.  Of course, an emotional day for all too!

The house is empty and just not the same but that's what makes you coming home that much more special!

What A Nice Surprise!

Found this note in a 1000 piece Disney puzzle, unfortunately no date.

Sure do miss those days, especially on the brink of Emilie heading off to college in the fall, alas!

Took In Another College Tour

College tour at Bridgewater State University!

What a great little yet big campus.  We were all very impressed with the campus, layouts and offerings.  I'm fairly certain this school jumped to the head of the class (list)...

I'm NOT Making This Up, Honest!

Here is a a text exchange I had with my (teenage) daughter the other afternoon.

Let me set the stage because it's important -

This was on a Tuesday afternoon; a Tuesday afternoon during school April vacation week
She went out to breakfast, well really brunch, with friends, late morning
Ran an errand to Target
Returned home and squirreled herself away in her bedroom for the rest of the day
Below text is sent to me (I'm w@h an in living room working)

The topper was when she finally came downstairs, a bit disheveled, as we were just about to start eating our dinner - the above referenced chicken...

OMG!

Will Wonders Never Cease?!

Good thing I was prepared for this otherwise I'm fairly certain I would have had the BIG one!

Emilie actually shoveled our back deck today!  And all on her own too, without being asked or told.

Thank you Emilie!!

Emilie Anne "Barbara" Frye

Emilie received her Confirmation from St. Mary Parish!

Her older sister, Stephanie, was her sponsor who flew in from Chicago.

A lovely service, followed by a fantastic diner at Luciano's in Wrentham.

Except for the torrential rains we got caught in leaving the church and arriving at the restaurant, it was a great night.  I had all three of my girls to myself.

My congratulations to Emilie Anne "Barbara" Frye.  I'm proud of you!

Our Walker Stalker Con Boston Fun

Emilie and I attended Walker Stalker in Boston this past Saturday and had a fun time!

Many of the Walking Dead actors and actresses were on hand to sign autographs and take selfies with -  of of course at an additional cost...don't get me started on this!

Emile chose to take a selfie with Christian Serratos, aka Rosita Espinosa in The Walking Dead.
Note:  I was yelled at for taking the above picture of Ms Serratos because I didn't pay the $40.00 to do so - true story.

Looks like we've started an annual trend, as Emilie is already talking about next years show.

Emilie's Parents, As Drawn By Emilie

Emilie's drawing talent on display here!

To be clear, I believe that blob on my face is my goatee and NOT my tongue hanging out.

JoAnne looking lovely as always!
