Baby It's Cold Outside!

It's -9.8 degrees here in Franklin at 6:30 this morning without the wind (and it's pretty windy)!

With the exception of  the billowing of smoke from neighboring chimneys, there's no outside activity taking place.  Even the birds are staying put and not at the feeder, which I topped off yesterday in anticipation of these fridged temps.

BRRRRR...

Yup, a tad chilly this morning for sure!

That reads 7.8 degrees and not 78.  Big difference.

Heat Wave?!

WOW, can you believe the temperature we hit yesterday on December 12?!

Doesn't look like we'll be having a white Christmas.

I'll take it!

As you can see from the above pic it was only 7.8 degrees outside this morning at 8:23AM, YIKES!

What you also might notice is that the weather girl is sporting her summertime attire. Looks like the batteries might need to be replaced to correct this. However, so long as the temperature is being reported correctly, which it is, then no need to fuss with it...if you know what I mean ;-)

The Snow's Melting Away, Yay!

Although we still have plenty of snow and ice covering the ground, yesterday was a beautiful day that warmed up well into the upper 50's low 60's. As a result the snow is slowly shrinking and melting away, yippie!

As you can see from the first picture below it was approximately 63 degrees here yesterday afternoon at 4:30. Which is a far cry from the second picture below where it was 33 degrees just over a month ago at about the same time.

What you also might have noticed is the what the lovely weather lady is wearing in both pictures. As I mentioned in an earlier post, her outfit adjusts with the temperature. The colder it is the more bundled up she becomes and conversely the warmer it gets the less bundled up she is, hubba hubba.

Yet, I have this unsettling feeling that even if we heat up into tripple digit numbers, she's not going to present me with her birthday suit, alas...
