Oh So Sad!

Any The Walking Dead fans out there?

Is thirteen too young to watch this program?

My Emile is addicted to The Walking Dead and I mean addicted!

I stumbled upon this program midway through it's second season and have been hooked.  However, I never went back to watch from the beginning.  That's changed now that Emilie's hooked.  We've been watching a couple episodes a night the past couple of weeks and have completed through season 4.

Season 6 is coming to an end this coming Sunday and it's not yet available on NetFlix.  So, this is causing Emile withdrawals, we'll have to wait until it's available.

There were a couple very moving episodes that brought Emilie to tears.  One in particular had her extremely upset.  So much so that she didn't or rather couldn't tell me good night.  She just headed straight to bed.

I was greeted with the following note hanging on my bathroom door when I retired for the night.  As you can see she was explaining just how upset she was.

So Long Old Chum

Out with the old...

Our old king size bed/mattress has been replaced with a brandy new queen size.

I believe "they" recommend replacing your mattress every 6 - 8 years, so I guess we're lucky our King lasted almost 20 years.

Happy Happy Happy!

It's been a long process but today was my last visit to the dentist to address my 2015 dental issues!

One cracked back tooth (lower left side) that required a root canal, my first, UGH!  One cracked and broken back tooth/crown (upper right side).

The root canal typically requires two visits, however mine took three.  Appointment one, nervous, I reluctantly arrived ready to go.  The dentist, Dr. Wang (not my regular dentist but a root canal specialist that works with and in the same office as my dentist but only on Wednesdays.) began.  First order of business was nova-cane and a lot of it.  After a brief wait for the numbness to set it the drilling began.  No worries couldn't feel a thing.  However, once he was through the tooth and at the nerve OUCH!  More nova-cane.  Wait.  Start drilling again.  OUCH!  Done.  Turns out there was inflammation in tooth which prevents the nova-cane from being able to penetrate fully.  So, reschedule for the following week after taking a weeks work of antibiotics.

Appointment two, (the following week, Wednesday) nova-cane again.  Wait.  Drill... No pain.  20 minutes later done.
Appointment three, (the following week, Wednesday) same process, however, 40 minutes later done!
Thank you Dr. Wang!  Onto Dr. Magier

Appointment four (first with my regular dentist). Take impressions for two new crowns.  Install two temporary crowns.  The temp crowns are really to protect the tooth underneath and not intended for chewing.

Appointment five (second with regular dentist), install new crowns!

Done!

Celebrate at the British Beer Company tonight for BOGO (buy one get one) pizza!

Although I have dental insurance experience tells me that most of the above work will not be covered, ALAS.  Just like having another root canal but without nova-cane...

More Snow, UGH!

Snowed most of the day yesterday.  Fortunately, the temps were above freezing so it didn't accumulate but raw just the same.  Hoping this will be the last of it.

A Sign of Spring Perhaps?

Came across this Earth Worm while taking the recycling out to the bin this morning.

It's been rainy and above freezing the last couple of days.  Unfortunately, the temperatures have been below average for this time of year but the snow continues to melt.  There's more and more grass appearing, so it's good to see worms making an appearance too.  Perhaps, spring is upon us.

A Hugh Sucking Sound In More Ways Than One!

It was not my intention to take a selfie of my finger but here it is -

I took this picture of cleanup work being done on the train tracks in South Station.

I was not surprised that the work was being done...actually now that I think of it yes I was surprised.  However, what's more surprising and more troubling are how many workers were there - 11 by my count and with the picture as proof.

They were using a high powered vacuum to suck the trash from the tracks. From what I could see it looked like this could have been done with 2 people; one to suck and one to drive the sucking machine.  So, why 11?  What a waste of time and money!

Rise and Shine

Early morning commute, via the MBTA Communicator Rail, into Boston -

I took the 6:50AM Norfolk train -

Walked up to the State House, which was still asleep -

The city had a morning fog hanging over the city -

The day warmed up nicely with the sun shining.  Not a bad day to be in the city.

Yamaha Spring Clean Up

Spent yesterday working on my motorcycle.

Changed the oil and filter, then a couple hours of detailing.  More work to do but made a dent,

Looking forward to getting back on the bike!

Whicked Smaht!

I put Cliff's theory to the test last night and think he may be onto something here.  However, it's the following morning that I now question...

So Long Old Friend

After months of hemming and hawing I finally pulled the trigger and posted our beloved 2003 Ford Explorer for sale.

The Craig's List ad was posted Friday afternoon and the vehicle was sold and gone Saturday afternoon, less than 24-hours later.

I was surprised at just how many people responded.  Happily the first person I contacted arrived when he said he would, knew he was getting a great deal and bought her!
