Liquid Dessert, Perhaps

Raise your Left Hand Brewing Co., and repeat after me...

As described via their website - "Rich and Savory with Peanut Butter & Milk Chocolate Notes
Rhythm and Blues. Batman and Robin. Peanut Butter and Chocolate. These classic duos never go out of style. Enter Peanut Butter Milk Stout. We took the pure milk chocolate bliss of our classic Milk Stout and added peanut buttery goodness. It’s like an adult peanut butter cup you can drink. It’s rich and decadent on the palate and lusciously lingers into a nutty, dry finish. A perfect pair you’ll want to share."

The chocolate taste and aroma dominates with only slight hints of the peanut butter.  More of a dessert type beverage in my opinion. A bit pricey but all in all, not too bad.

We're All In On The Fun Too!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in East Tennessee!

So, it seems appropriate to sit outside and why not next to a roaring fire, that was our plan -

And enjoy some frosty Yee Haw Dunkel beer -

And we nailed this plan!

The Beer Can's Birthday!

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
*** ding ding, ding ding ***

Although, I am neither a town crier or a bellman I am here to announce the following -

*** ding ding, ding ding ***
(waving my imaginary bell)

The beer can turns 80 years old this coming weekend!

*** ding ding, ding ding ***

I for one will honor this milestone and celebrate by throwing back a couple.

Another First For Me!

Had my first black & tan yesterday afternoon, actually, had two!

Officially called "Outlaw Oatmeal Stout" and described as follows - "Deep rich and creamy with roasted coffee and chocolate overtones.  A great dessert ale.".

Not too bad - tasty!

Taste of the Region!

JoAnne, Emilie and I attended a local food festival called "Taste of The Region" this past Tuesday evening.  The event was held at the Tri-County Regional Vocational High School.  We've been going to this event the past several years and always have fun and leave stuffed - this year was no different.

There were local area restaurants with a variety of delicacies offered for sampling. New this year was the British Beer Company and their 20oz Pumpkin Beer, A YUMMY!!  I didn't even this fly floating around in my beverage it was SO good!

The End of A Long Weekend

So, after all my weekend chores were completed, included mowing the neighbors lawn, I got to sit back, relax and enjoy a frost wobblie-pop (or three) yesterday afternoon.

Sadly, I had to drink alone as my brother's visit came to an end.  Well, I was alone until my neighbor came over and joined me...

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon it was!

Beer versus Water

A public service announcement to my family and friends who enjoy beer...

As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 4 cups of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 2 pounds of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 2 pounds of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

So remember: Water = Poop, Beer = Health. Therefore, it's better to drink beer and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.
