I think this tube of toothpaste is a tad bit past it's expire date...

So Long Little Buddy...

Sadly, I have some terrible news to report.

The young male deer that's been visiting, along with it's mother, the past six month, and as recently as seven days ago, has died.

Looking out the back window this past Tuesday afternoon something caught my eye; something was different.  I knew immediately what it was and went down for a closer look.  Sure enough it was the little yearling male expired and lying in the neighbors back yard.

Other than some critter chewing on the carcass there were no visible signs of trauma, so not sure what happened.

I don't believe the neighbors have seen it yet and not sure what they're going to do with it.  I don't believe animal control will remove it because of where it's located.  Of course, if it were me I'd drag it to the street one evening, then place the call.  At that point the animal would be on town property and become their responsibility, which would mean they'd need to remove it.

RIP

YUK!!

These are either cucumbers or zucchini squash or perhaps one of each. I was too disturbed at finding these and having to remove them to really care. I found them in the vegetable drawer of my dads refrigerator. Notice the state they're in now, and he just left on vacation for six weeks. Still not sure if the horrendous odor coming from the fridge was a result of these dudes or the half dozen other items he left in there, which were already spoiled.

I REALLY wish I had it in me to leave these items, as well as the other rotting and expired items, right where I found them. To let my dad return home after six weeks and take care of it himself. However, and perhaps it's my OCD, but I couldn't. It would have bothered me too much. So, I removed it all.

Hmm, I wonder if the folks who have attended his open houses have noticed?! I don't believe anyone has opened the fridge, but you don't have to, the smells hit you as soon as you walk in the door.

Boxed Candy Warning

Hi All,

Wanted to pass along a friendly heads-up warning about boxed candy. If you happen to receive a nice box of candy as a gift - check the expire date before opening and consuming!!

Of course the expire date doesn't necessarily mean that the item is spoiled. However, since it's 2010, a box of candy with an expire date of 2006, for example, might not be a good idea.

Some think otherwise. Just saying...

That's all Folks!

The Guessing Game...

What are:

12/2004?
07/2005?
02/2006?
07/2006?
08/2006?
08/2008?

These are the expire dates off some of the condiments in my dad's refrigerator.

12/2004 = salad dressing
07/2005 = mayonnaise
02/2006 = cocktail sauce
07/2006 = salad dressing
08/2006 = ketchup
08/2008 = yellow mustard
