This male Hackberry Emperor Butterfly thought I wouldn’t notice him perched on the back porch light fixture -
The row of white spots near the tips of its forewing is the tell that this is in fact a Hackberry Emperor butterfly and not its closely related Tawney Emperor butterfly.
