Just A Typical Friday Night!

I threw my Christmas tree up real quick last night - sneak peak below.  I didn't spend any time on it other than to unbox, put the pieces together and plugin, so more decorating and tweaking to come, as the motivation hits me -

Friday night is pizza night, of course it is!

Same ole same but different.  Since I've learned that most pre-packaged shredded cheeses aren't good for you; too many additives, instead I've now begun to shred the cheeses I use.  I bulk bought, from BJs, a bag of fresh mozzarella and with my homegrown garlic, broccoli and a bit of ham, WALLA -

Whilst I was creating my pizza, Mother Nature once again offered another stunning sunset off my back deck - I luv my deck and the views it provides -

A thumbs up AND a paw up! The pizza was delicious!

The Grand Finally...

Tonight's pizza and the last of my home grown tomatoes.

It was SO delicious! I'm gonna miss my fresh tomatoes, they make all the difference!

Trixie approves too!  She is also a BIG fan of my tomatoes and pizza in general.

Friday night is pizza night for me and last nights pie didn't disappoint!

I made myself a Feta, Kalamata olive and fresh, just picked from my garden BIG, plump and juicy tomato, OMG, SO frick'n delicious!

Yes, of course I ate the whole thing!

And yes, of course I shared with my BFF Trixie!  Friday nights are pizza nights for her too.

Now That's Italian!

I worked in the Boston office yesterday and I took a nice relaxing walk at lunch yesterday to Faneuil Hall Marketplace.  Once there, and who can resist, I certainly cannot, I grabbed a couple slices of cheese pizza and a bottle of water from Regina Pizza, found a bench in a shady spot and savored each bite as I did some people watching. 

So so tasty!

Homemade Pizza Pie !

Friday night is usually my pizza night, however, due to poor planning on my part my dinner options were all frozen.  So, pizza night was moved up a day.

After mowing the lawn tonight, and before heading inside, I went to my garden and picked a juicy, plump tomato and a bell pepper. These incredibly fresh veggies and some of my own garlic, picked back in July, made their way onto tonight's homemade pizza, along with some ham!

The fresh veggies make such a BIG difference!

YUP, I ate the entire pizza!  Well, Trixie helped too.

Bait and Switch

What in the Sam hill?!

Imagine my surprise when I popped open this just bought Signature Select tube of pizza dough!

It's bad enough the cost of these have sky rocketed but to then trim the dough by a couple inches is a dirty trick.

So disappointed with being forced to cook and eat a miniature pizza, alas...

No More Alvino's Pizza...

Our hopes, and taste buds, were running high and excited at the thought of Alvino's pizza.

But alas it was not to be.  Upon arrival we learned the disappointing news, via a sign on the door, that Alvino's went out of business...

Post Office Square Boston

Took the commuter train into Boston on Tuesday for a meeting.

It was a beautiful day in the city, so the walk to and from South Station to our office was enjoyable.

Had lunch at a terrific pizza place called Regina Pizzeria.  I grabbed a couple slices, a cold water and grabbed a bench outside in the shade to do some people watching.

Westwood Pizza Reminiscent

I'm in the process of going through the many boxes of pictures we have in an effort to make sense of them all.  My master plan is to get them all scanned and in digital format. To date I've scanned 687 and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

In one of the boxes I came across this old menu for Westwood Pizza.  I don't know the date but based on the prices it was quite some time ago.  If I was to guess I'd say somewhere in the early 80's.

This is where the Frye's would get our pizzas from.  If I remember correctly, we'd get a free small cheese pizza with any order of five small pizzas, which we often took advantage of (I may have the numbers wrong but it was something like this).

Good old Spiro, the Greek owner/operator.

Following our appointment the other evening we grabbed a bite to eat at The British Beer Company (BBC) here in Franklin.

I chose the "Fenway" pizza, which comes with sausage, peppers, onions and a red sauce,yummy!
