What's Going On Here?!

I took this picture yesterday, November 20th, on my late morning walk.

The weather has been unseasonably warm this fall, which may have something to do with the pictured rosebush sporting freshly opened blooms!

Yup, I kid you not, flowering roses, here in New England on the backend of November.

They pop nicely with the brown backdrop.

She Loves Me, She Loves Me NOT

Took this picture on 9-26.

To be honest I was a little surprised to see a beautiful rose in full bloom this late in the season.  I was tempted to pick it and give it to my love, but since it was in my neighbors garden I thought better of it.

The thought was there, so I should get a kudos or two, right?!

Rose Bush Maintenance

Q: When should I trim back my rosebushes?

A: In early spring, after the last frost. If forsythias are in bloom in your area, that's a good sign that it's time to prune the roses.
